Sitting in a restaurant in Hannibal, Missouri the plan was hatched. "Let's go down the Mississippi!" Realizing I would end up in New Orleans and Mobile it wasn't long before the plan took on greater depth - "I'm going to do the Great Loop." So in a tri-hulled, 24 foot pontoon boat, that's exactly what I'm doing. – Lyn Morgan

Great Loop route
Happy Fourth of July! We did the parade in Vail as usual but it was short and not too exciting this year. The Avon fireworks were extra spectacular with 13,000 shells and a warm night to watch them from our deck. The kids/grands are here and we have hiking, rafting, zip lining, golfing, alpine sliding and swimming all on the agenda. We had hoped Joanne would join us for our barbecue but she had other plans. We've enjoyed the blogs alot...what an experience; we hope for a more intimate report with a couple of bottles of wine upon your return!!! Stay safe.......
