Preparations at Lake Powell, UT

During the 8 months of planning for the Loop I made numerous trips to Lake Powell to determine gear suitability and familiarize with the Lowrance GPS and Sirius marine weather receiver. The Premier Pontoon S-series 235 tri-pontoon with PTX and rough water option was delivered by the fine folks from Hallberg Marine in February. The "sea trials" were essential in establishing confidence in the equipment; in the meantime route planning and gear acquisition took place at home in the snowy Colorado mountains.

  5. Lyn Morgan: what FUN! And a great adventure. I won't call pontoon boats "floating porches" anymore, if you can do this journey. May the seas be kind.

  7. Sorry to hear about your delay. Regardless of the frustrations involved in the delay, the interruptions in life often present lessons we were meant to learn on the journey. Nonetheless, I send wishes for a speedy, but safe, departure. Success and spiritual lessons come in many forms.

  8. Hi Lyn,
Reportedly, there is more growth in challenges than in pleasusre and comfort. Congratulations on your resourcefulness and wonderful contacts.

  9. So cool...I did Rhode Island to Key West in the Fall of 2018. I'm sure your trip was a bit more challenging without the upgrades to navigation we enjoy today. Congrats on a great adventure. Mine can be seen on YouTube at 3DSailor...
